Policy Positions

For expanding affordable housing, including supporting plans to build three million new housing units, eliminating junk fees for renters, repealing restrictions on housing access for those with prior drug convictions, and helping manufactured home residents purchase their communities

For abortion rights; opposed a Republican resolution (H.Con.Res. 3) seen as downplaying violence against abortion providers, and previously fought for abortion rights while working at the ACLU

For restoring felony voting rights, having led the ACLU of Florida's campaign for Amendment 4 which restored voting rights to over 1.6 million Floridians with prior felony convictions

For increased oversight and transparency regarding ICE detention practices, including establishing a public database of detained individuals (SUDEM Act)
For restoring and strengthening the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) to cover missile programs and support for terrorist proxies
Against Trump's military actions against Iran; supported a War Powers Resolution to stop the war
For a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; against the BDS movement; later shifted to opposing further aid to Israel, criticizing its conduct in Gaza as a violation of international law, and co-sponsoring a resolution recognizing Israel's actions in Gaza as genocide

Against removing Temporary Protected Status for Haitian and Syrian immigrants; for creating a faster path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants
