Policy Positions
Economic Policy
- For tax cuts for middle-class families and small businesses, and property tax relief
- For eliminating junk fees and limiting utility rate hikes
- Against cuts or elimination of Social Security and Medicare; supports expanding Medicare to cover hearing, dental, and vision services, lowering and capping prescription drug costs, limiting out-of-pocket medical expenses, and eliminating the Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provision
Business & Labor
- For expanding consumer protections against price gouging on basic goods
Health Care
- For protecting and expanding the Affordable Care Act (ACA), adding a public option for low-income earners, while allowing people to keep existing private insurance plans
- For negotiating lower prescription drug prices and capping insulin costs
- For expanding addiction treatment services including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), requiring opioid antagonists like Narcan in public buildings, and investing in community-based opioid prevention programs
Education
- For increasing federal funding for public schools, expanding universal pre-K, and improving teacher pay and benefits
Environment
- For reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to renewable energy sources (wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and nuclear), and replacing lead pipes in water systems
Civil Rights
- For abortion rights; supports codifying abortion access via the Women's Health Protection Act, opposes national abortion ban and any legislation restricting reproductive rights including birth control and IVF, and opposes criminalizing doctors who perform reproductive care
- For expanding veterans' benefits including employment opportunities, improved VA healthcare and mental health services, expanded disability opportunities, and grant funding for local veterans organizations

- For comprehensive immigration reform including increased Customs and Border Protection personnel, more immigration judges, streamlined asylum process, and protections for DREAMers and refugees; supported the bipartisan border deal rejected by Congress
