Policy Positions

Economic Policy

  • For the American Rescue Plan, including direct funding to schools and municipalities, Child Tax Credit, tax relief, affordable health care, and unemployment assistance
  • For affordable child care, universal pre-K, and paid family leave
  • For expanding and protecting Social Security through the Social Security 2100: A Sacred Trust bill, which cuts taxes for middle-class beneficiaries, extends program solvency, and expands benefits; opposes cutting or privatizing Social Security
  • For the bipartisan infrastructure bill, including investments in roads, bridges, public transportation, water supply, and broadband internet expansion

Business & Labor

  • For the PRO Act to protect the right to organize and strengthen union rights
  • For raising the minimum wage

Health Care

  • For the Affordable Care Act and expanding its coverage, including protections for pre-existing conditions
  • For a Medicare public option ('Medicare for All Who Want It') allowing anyone to buy into Medicare, and for expanding Medicare to include hearing, dental, and vision coverage
  • For allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices and capping drug costs for seniors via the Build Back Better Act

Education

  • For lowering the cost of secondary education and expanding access to high-speed internet

Environment

  • For climate action; co-sponsored the Green New Deal, authored the America Wins Act (carbon tax bill aimed at slashing carbon emissions in half within a decade), spearheaded clean energy tax credits, co-founded the House Fuel Cell Caucus, and co-sponsored the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007

Civil Rights
