Economic Policy
- For lower taxes; supported the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and advocates for continued tax code overhaul to reduce taxpayer burden

- Against government-run health insurance; opposes single-payer or government-run health care programs; first House vote was for repealing the Affordable Care Act
Education
- For displaying 'In God We Trust' in public buildings and schools; voted for a bill reinforcing it as the U.S. motto
Environment
- For nuclear energy; supports nuclear power as a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly energy source, leads the House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus, and proposed $9 billion in funding for advanced nuclear energy projects including small modular reactors
- Against the Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program; filed the Stop Green Initiative Abuse Act of 2011 to repeal it
Civil Rights
- Against abortion rights; believes life begins at conception, opposes taxpayer funding for abortions and Planned Parenthood, and opposes infanticide
- Against removing Confederate statues from the U.S. Capitol; voted against legislation to do so

- Against the 2020 U.S. presidential election results; signed an amicus brief supporting Texas v. Pennsylvania in an effort to contest the election outcome

- For U.S. aid to Ukraine; voted for initial Ukraine funding bill and expressed openness to additional funding to counter Russia's invasion

- Against gun control; strongly opposes any legislation limiting Second Amendment rights, has received 'A' ratings from the NRA and Gun Owners of America, and voted for the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011
