Policy Positions
Economic Policy
- For dismantling the IRS and establishing a flat tax system or Fair Tax as alternatives to the current tax code
- For the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017; voted for it and called it a 'big Christmas present' for constituents
- For increased defense spending to provide military with necessary resources and equipment
Health Care
- For repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare); voted numerous times to repeal it and supports allowing insurance providers to offer innovative, affordable plans
Environment
- For eliminating the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; co-sponsored H.R. 861 to abolish the EPA by 2018
- For energy independence through oil production and exports; supported repealing the ban on U.S. oil exports
Civil Rights
- Against abortion; believes life begins at conception and consistently fought to protect unborn children through legislation and voting to ban taxpayer funding for abortions
- Against federal legalization of same-sex marriage; believes it should be decided by states and condemned the Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision
- For Veterans Affairs reform including the Veterans Affairs and Whistleblower Protection Act to remove VA employees for misconduct
Voting Rights & Democracy
- Against certifying the 2020 presidential election results; voted to reject results in Arizona and Pennsylvania and signed amicus brief supporting Texas v. Pennsylvania lawsuit
Immigration & Foreign Affairs
- Against the Iran nuclear deal; argued Iran was a dangerous terrorist state seeking regional or global hegemony
- For building physical barriers along borders and increasing border patrol agents to secure America's borders before addressing illegal immigration
- For ending chain migration and visa lotteries as part of immigration reform

- For Second Amendment rights; opposes measures restricting law-abiding citizens' rights to purchase and carry firearms despite being a victim of gun violence
